GFI: Providing Alberta With Site Access Solutions You Can Count On

Tired of dealing with production delays and costly damage caused by difficult terrain conditions on your remote worksite? Alberta’s landscape and unpredictable weather patterns can pose multiple challenges when it comes to safely and efficiently hauling resources to and from your location. Site access mats help create a reliable roadway for your fleet no matter the ground conditions, keep your job site safe, and protect the land to ensure you comply with environmental standards. Depended on by those in the oil & gas, power, petrochemical, mining, forestry and related heavy industries, access mats like the TerraLam® Line produced by Sterling Solutions help keep your crew safe and your workflow efficient.

Tough Enough To Conquer Every Job: Meet TerraLam®

Difficult jobs and challenging worksite conditions demand innovation. Sterling Solutions’ range of TerraLam® products are made using Cross Laminated Timber, a groundbreaking technique that results in lighter weight mats that offer superior durability and performance compared to bolted mats.

Crafted by bonding alternating perpendicular layers of wood with an environmentally safe adhesive, CLT mats disperse weight throughout the entire unit as opposed to bolting points, which allows for incredible performance under pressure and a life cycle that is 3-5 times the length of traditional timber matting. With multiple sizes available both the 300 and 500 series of TerraLam® products are built to withstand the Albertan landscape and climate, as well as your daily demands onsite. Details for each line include:

Built from high-quality Southern Yellow Pine wood fibres, the 300 series is up to 40% lighter than timber and bolted mats, allowing you to haul up to 25% more per load for reduced shipping costs. In addition to a longer lifespan and high impact resistance, features of these mats include:

  • 3-ply cross-laminated timber
  • Construction all layers
  • Southern yellow pine
  • Beveled edges
  • Can be manufactured with or without 1″ oak fingers
  • Weight: – 1,350 lbs.

Still as lightweight as the 300 series, 500 series mats are ideal for heavier applications with extreme loads, machinery and crane uses, and more. Features include:

  • 5-ply cross-laminated timber construction
  • All layers southern yellow pine
  • Beveled edges weight: – 2,667 lb
